Where the Hell have you been!!

Well people, an apology....

I've neglected this little old blog recently, and there are many reasons why....as we head into 2015, let me tell you why I've been a busy boy...

RADIO KILLED THE INTERNET STAR

In March of this year, Incarace's commentator Dave Goddard approached me to provide audio clips for the monthly podcast Ovaltalk, which he created.... and that I did! Well, it was just easy, I'd just give Dave the links to the audio interviews I started doing in February mainly to bring something different to the blog. A monthly pre recorded podcast was the start of the year. Then, Downforce svengali, former Startrax commentator Jake Sanson, decided that this should be a live show! The first live show was the September one, and the response was phenomenal - so it became a regular thing currently monthly, with me often reporting from meetings and chairing debates and giving opinions, and the now infamous delve into live commentary, which there might be more of next season, sorry about that! But like most things, myself and Dave are delighted of how the listener figures have gone for Ovaltalk, it shocked ourselves and also the Downforce team! Let us know what you want from us next season and I will try my best to include it. However, my involvement didn't stop there....

Soon, I became fully induced into the ample Downforce bosoms, and with the awful events that happened following the Japanese Grand Prix, I was inducted into both the "Debrief" and "Pit Bored" teams to help on their shows. When I say help, it was usually arguing with someone about Fernando Alonso! If you haven't heard Ovaltalk, or a just like listening to racing debate, all their shows, including live broadcasts are available in a  podcast form from their website www.downforce-radio.co.uk

CALENDAR EXTRA CURRICULAR

So during the calendar's put together for this meant getting together and friendly with Emma Wright, Cornwall's Macmillan fundraising manager. During the past year, she said something major was coming and would require my skills as a blogger to assist her in publicizing a major announcement. That announcement was a new cancer support centre is due to be built in Truro, next door to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske. £1 million needs to be raised to provide Cornwall with a support centre for cancer sufferers and their nearest and dearest. So after helping her with a few ideas for fundraising I said that I could put together a few podcasts and look towards helping in other events. This started in November, with me and the girlfriend going down to Newquay to do some bucket shaking at the biggest firework display in the coastal town. Following that, I went, mobile app in hand to the Macmillan Christmas Fair, at the Eden Project, and interviewed all sorts of stall holders, volunteers and the like. The end result was this podcast - part of an ongoing series. I've also committed myself to lots more additional challenges which I will tell you about soon!

LOVE....

Well, it is great innit. Recently after numerous failed relationships that racked up motorway miles, I found a girl, a mile up the road in Pensilva. Ironic isn't it! However as she lives in the "Home of Champions" she knows not of its greatest export one, WM Batten Esq. She even lived in the same estate as him. However, she is looking forward to being educated on the finer points of stock car racing, and she has already watched the 2013 World Final with director's commentary. No doubt she'll be hanging around me so say hello!

THE FUTURE

Well the site will be going down for its annual revamp and aswell as reporters I shall be after some content from all across the country. Being down in the westcountry means that my travel can be somewhat limited, so your help, more than ever, next season will be greatly appreciated. With greater multimedia commitments, I am to provide the best interviews and knowledge in the blog's fifth year!

Happy new year....
