Thats my lie ins ruined....

...as Sunday becomes Stoxday! A brief trip up the A30 for me to Taunton, to look at some new paint, despite having no company due to my company coughing up both lungs with this dreaded cough. So park up and usual faces in the usual places, and lets go racing....

Another new shape Motorworld, this one will be for Jon Palmer (24) when he's back from being a naughty boy

An impeccably observed minutes silence for Autospeed's marshall Roy Goddard, who sadly passed away last week, after being taken ill at the previous meeting. With the sombreness done with, it was ready to start racing....

The first heat was a lively affair, Liam Deeble (785) took up the early running before the yellow came. A rapidly attacking Chris Bradbury (886) was attacking the field, and got in amongst the lower graders when he met up with Steve Rendle (266) who it appeared didn't take too kindly to being overtaken by Bradders, and gave him a tap back, which then caused the two to tangle, and this was the end result.....

Oh dear...
Heat 2 saw the whites 162 Richard Swales and the returning 438 Mike Rice take to the front before a yellow flag brought early spinners James Rygor (783) and Chris Mikkula (522) back into the fray. Mikkula took up at the last availoable moment and saw off Rygor.

The consolation became the Bradbury show, after a brief period of jostling between Liam Deeble and Ian Jefferies (992) for the lead. However the steward deemed that for the second time this weekend

2 aborted starts for the final, saw again Mike Rice take up the running, and looked un catchable, until he got caught up. Matt Westaway (835) was the leader and looked good for a podium, but ended up parked up with the line in sight. Bradbury took his first final of 2011, and started his season like he finished the last Taunton, with a win. The new Motorworld of Neil Hooper was second, whilst 522 was third across the line.

Over on the fun coast, it was extremely busy. 921 Jack Aldridge, fresh from success at Birmingham the previous night scored a heat win and 2 3rds. But it was 968 Mickey Brennan who took the big win.
