This year saw the world head west, due to the rota for the semi finals and finals ending at Bristol and Taunton. Two very unique tracks, one up hill and down dale, the other a glorified mini roundabout (John Mickel's words not mine). An all tar world is going to happen more often than not as there are more tarmac promoters than shale promoters, and only 2 shale promoters currently have full F2 membership! The World of Shale was created to counter balance this. Traditonally, championships have been divided out on a rota basis. Tracks close, promotions merge and championships are swapped. An all shale semi/world combo is very unlikely to happen.
In the past we've had people book holidays on Semi Final or even, perish the thought, World Final, and whilst it remains a drivers prerogative to race, if they aren't going to compete in the Semis, it kinda defeats the object of going to the QR.
To avoid this happening again, here's the Jho 3 point plan to semi grids actually being semi grids post qualifing
1. At the start of the season, the semi final and world final venues are published. When renewing his license, the drivers should have an option on whether they wish be in the world final qualifying period. Those who don't fancy a trip on the shale or vice versa, or hate Barford or have a aversion to men in skirts can tick the opt out box. Then we know who's chasing the gold.
2. You've done quite well in the QR's but opted out? Want to change that, pay your entry for the rounds you've done, plus an additonal fee for entry.
3. Brisca F2 to contact the lucky 56 . Drivers to confirm their bookings as soon as possible, a timescale of 2-3 days so full and proper grids can be published
So with the drop outs here's the scores on the doors
