All roads lead to M42 J6 as the NEC beckons us petrolheads forth. Apart from me, who has over done it at the gym can barely walk. Still I'll be a shadow of my former self come March. Still with all the pre season talk, it is that of the countdown to season start in earnest.
Some interesting points thrown up by the fixture list. One stand out point is that this years World Final, at tiny Taunton, will be under lights on Saturday 14th September. Anyone who saw the Saloon World Final last year saw that it had a great atmosphere. It has been 10 years in the making for Crispen and Co, I have no doubts that they have plenty of surprises up their sleeves and will produce a slick world, I just hope for them its a Taunton '03 and not a Ringwood '95!
We're off to Ipswich as well. A very good shout as another tarmac track, and if well attended, could make Uncle Deane think about unleashing the other tracks in his empire out for us to play at. Aldershot looks rather good!
Speaking of the Incaworth one, a bit of a gamble with a midweek Northampton or two. Who says holiday stock car is only for the seaside. As I seem to remember, there were always midweek meets at tracks not by the seaside. Why should Skeggy have the fun!
It is a shame that Arena has gone, maybe one to try again when the Supers and the Twos get together. Sadly Satan appearing on Dancing on Ice might work. And Deane likes Holly Willoughbooby.....
So to the shiny new cars. World Champion Mickey Brennan has dispensed with the #968 and taken up his right to have the #1. Not even Robert the Great could win with the ultimate number, so maybe Mickey might buck the trend....
Here's some pics from the excellent Martyn Robinson!
